Coal is one of the cheapest, most abundant fuels on the planet... and the clean-burning anthracite coal for which the Hitzer E-Z Flow is designed helps save the planet's environment, too. Rich in clean-burning carbon--but low in pollution-causing sulfer, dust, and ask -- anthracite "nut" or "pea" size coal is readily available in clean, easy-to-store 50 lb. bags that pruduce more heat per dollar thean any other fuel you can use.

Anthracite coal burns hot, slow, radiating smooth, even warmth to every corner ... comfort that you can control. And it's long lasting heat; up to 50 hours froma 50 lb. bag with the model 50-93, and up to 30 hours from a 30 lb. bag with model 30-95

Years of research and development have gone into the Hitzer Model 503 Fireplace Insert. Extra time was taken to design and redesign the system, but it's been worth it...for you. There is nothing automated about our production line. Careful Amish craftsmen skillfully hand build every insert. Their attention to detail and desire for the utmost quality is a part of their heritage.

The gravity fed hopper system, with no moviong parts, provides continuous feeding of anthracite coal for constant heat output over extended burn times, without tending. Coal continues to feed even in the event of power failure. Hopper is removable for burning bituminous coal.And it's a part of every Model 503

Air Intake Controls
Primary combustion air enters the fire box through the ash door, then flows up through the grates. The secondary air and air wash control on the main door promotes efficient combustion as well as secondary burning of gases

Thermostatically controlled side blowers draw in surrounding air, circulate it around the fire box, and push it out through the warm air exits.
