About the Heat Exchanger: Baker Coal Burning Stoves have taken the concept of efficiency to its logical conclusion ... total heat extraction. By re-inventing the coal burning stove, Baker has created a system that provides both circulatory and radiant heat. An "air-tight" firebox insures near total combustion, while a unique, patented baffle system retains the fire's full heating potential.
All Baker Stoves Are Equipped With This System
A "cut-away" view of the baffle system demonstrates how cold air is picked up by the fan from floor level and forced up through the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is located in the hottest part of the stove -- the "combustion chamber". The heat continues through air tubes to the front of the stove, where it is blown into the living area, rather then up the chimney. Baker's unique combination of circulatory plus radiant heat means efficiency.
